A Beautiful Distraction

After seeing Johnathan off at the MTC, we drove up to Sundance to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and to be distracted from saying good bye. What a view that we do miss living in Texas! Sundance is a beautiful resort and it was fun to walk around, get some treats and take a ride to the top on the chair lift.
Not only do we miss the mountains living down south, but I particularly miss the fall leaves so it was a real treat to enjoy them for a bit!

We loved have a little extra time with Jordan before he headed back to school.

The Big Day - Johnathan enters the MTC

It finally happened - on September 23rd, after 4 months of waiting, Johnathan entered the Missionary Training Center (MTC) and began is mission! He will be here for 3 weeks and then will finish his training in the MTC located in the Dominican Republic. He was ready and eager and excited to finally go!

The whole gang seeing him off... Since you do not go in to see the missionary off anymore, after taking pictures out front, we decided to walk him over instead of dropping him off in the car. This is the procession across the street walking over with him!

There he goes! We watched him as he met up with an escort and went in to the MTC. We have already received our first letter from him - he is doing so well, and working hard learning Spanish. Its great to see his focus and humility!

Catching up with the Turner Family

We had a great Turner family dinner right before Johnathan entered the MTC. It was so great to see everyone (all of John's seven sisters were there and many of their spouses, children, grandchildren, etc) and visit. We appreciate everyone's time and effort to be there and see Johnathan off. Loyal, John & Taylor

Birthday Celebrate Part 1

While in Utah, we took the opportunity to celebrate Taylor's big birthday a few days early so she could have her grandparents and brothers there. It was so fun!

Our Last Few Days with Johnathan (for a while!)

We had the great opportunity to visit the Salt Lake Temple with Johnathan before he left on his mission. Grandma & Grandpa Turner came, along with Aunt Julie, Aunt Shellie and cousin Mitchell, who is leaving for his mission to Spokane, Washington next month. We loved the time together in the temple and on the temple grounds.

11 Months

In the last month Taylor has sprinted through these development milestones - from army crawl to crawling all over to pulling up and now walking behind her toys! Its way too fast for me but it is so fun to watch her learn and grow. She is quite the chatterbox too!

Taylor was the recipient of Kayley's talent when she entered the business plan competition at BYU's Marriott School of Business and she won!! We love the plaque that she painted for us and wish Kayley's business great success!
